Decatur Maritime Security is a full service maritime security company, covering all aspects of design, implementation and evaluation of Physical Protection Systems with unique strengths in the Maritime domain. While many firms provide land-based facility security, we focus primarily on Physical Protection for vessels, harbors, port facilities, gas-oil platforms and infrastructure and other critical nodes within the supply chain. Where client personnel engagement is required--either for support or even basic awareness, Decatur provides the best training in maritime security available through our instructors—all of whom have first-hand, “real-world” experience.

We pride ourselves on respecting local customs and works within the law of the countries in which it operates. To this end, Decatur liaises with local law enforcement authorities when requested or is otherwise deemed necessary.

Our personnel is our strongest asset. The company’s CEO was a U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer, and the entire staff is comprised of veteran military, special operations and law enforcement personnel, all with extensive experience conducting maritime or port security operations and delivering training on these and related topics. The company’s senior staff are decorated U.S. Navy Non-Commissioned or Commissioned Officers with operational experience ranging from peace-time environments, to low-intensity conflict, counter-piracy operations, and open conflict. Our instructors are fully versed in the Maritime Transportation Security Act and the U.S. Coast Guard's Maritime Security Facilities Rules. Individual operators are hand-picked, interviewed and effectively “screened” to ensure they meet our firm’s exceptionally high standards of capability, integrity, restraint and professionalism.

Decatur owns an 82ft ocean-going cutter to support Maritime/Port Security operations for extended durations and in any region. Using this platform in conjunction with smaller vessels and assets, we can conduct multiple simultaneous security operations and client support functions independent of land-based assets. The vessel provides a strong security deterrent. Further, when incidents occur, it provides higher detection rates and quicker response times. When needed, Decatur will deploy cutting-edge communications and intrusion detection equipment depending on the client’s needs and budget.

Finally, due to Decatur’s extensive network service providers in the maritime, shipping and security industries, unique equipment requirements and capabilities including fixed and rotary-wing aviation services can be sourced and supported with minimal lead-times anywhere in the world.
